Student Success Dashboard
Designing an all-in-one dashboard to connect students to academic and wellness resources to improve engagement and dropout rates.
College dropout rates have steadily increased in the years following the COVID-19 pandemic. While many factors are at play, university leaders hypothesized that empowering at-risk students with improved access to resources and providing professors, deans, and advisors with greater oversight could improve student engagement and graduation rates.
As part of a pitch for a white-labeled platform, I created designs for a student success dashboard, focusing primarily on the overview and career pages.
The overview provides a snapshot of a student’s academic progress and extracurriculars, along with recommendations about upcoming courses and campus events. We focused on finding opportunities to get students more involved and identifying critical resources, along with proactive messaging that encourages students to address a problem before it snowballs.
Career-wise, it was important to highlight job or internship opportunities available as well as next steps toward a particular field of work. A key feature of this page is a radar chart that maps competencies a student has developed through coursework and extracurriculars map against competencies required in a particular field of work.
